Week 05.06.12 – First and foremost I would like to say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the women (and men) out there in cyberspace who have taken the time to nurture a young person to be the best that they can be.
Now, on to the newsy stuff.
There were quite a few interesting things in the headlines this past week that made my head turn, including a story about Trayvon Martin’s mom receiving a very generous gift from her co-workers just in time for Mother’s Day. Other head-turners included such stories as the passing of the creative spirits Maurice Sendak and Vidal Sassoon, the reveal that the OWN network is over $300 million in debt and the “Stand Your Ground” case where a woman was sentenced to 20 years jail-time for trying to protect herself against an abusive husband. Thank you soooooo very much Ann for taking the time to read the stories I’ve selected each week and for forwarding them on to others. I’m glad to know that this is a section you enjoy. I look at the “Head-turning Headlines” as good conversation starters that can also serve as a valuable tidbit of information for someone somewhere in the world.
Please let me know what sort of things interest you the most. Do they fall into the category of Creativity, Entertainment or Life in General?
